Court orders probe into attempted sale of Nepal Embassy land

Colombo, Sept. 26 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo Additional Magistrate Liyan Warusha Withana directed the Colombo Crimes Division to conduct an immediate investigation and report to court regarding an incident where a group of unidentified individuals had allegedly entered into a plot of land belonging to the Embassy of Nepal and attempted to unlawfully survey and sell the property.

The order was made following a complaint lodged with the Crimes Division by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.

Officials of the Dematagoda Crimes Division informed court that investigations had been initiated based on the complaint, which alleged that unknown persons were preparing to sell the land after illegally surveying it.
