Colombo, Oct. 27 (Daily Mirror) - Denying that he has connections with the underworld, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Jagath Vithane said today that the move by the police to connect him with underworld figure Mathugama Shan is fishy.

“I don’t have any connections with the underworld figure Mathugama Shan. I have hardly known him and don’t have any issue with him. However, I wonder whether there is a sinister move to get the underworld to do something to me,” MP Vithane told a media briefing today.

“I will take legal action against this move to connect me with the underworld,” he added.

Thought SJB is an off shoot of UNP. Looking at it's MP's and Local councillors it's now clear that it also resembles SLPP.
