Committee submits report recommending repeal of PTA
Colombo, Nov. 13 (Daily Mirror) - A committee report containing recommendations for the repeal of Sri Lanka’s Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) has been submitted to Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the committee’s final draft bill includes proposals for new anti-terrorism legislation intended to replace the existing Prevention of Terrorism Act.
The report was handed over by President’s Counsel Rienzi Arsakularatne, who chaired the committee tasked with reviewing the PTA.
