Colombo, Oct. 27 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama yesterday directed the Cinnamon Gardens Police to conduct an investigation and report to court regarding an incident in which a letter contained in an official file of the Colombo Land Registry had allegedly gone missing.

The order was issued after the Cinnamon Gardens Police sought court permission to carry out an inquiry based on a complaint lodged by a senior officer of the Colombo Land Registry.

The complaint had been made following an anonymous tip-off claiming that a letter kept in one of the office files had been misplaced.

Police informed court that the missing letter in question has not yet been identified and that an investigation is being conducted to determine its nature and whereabouts. They further assured the court that progress of the inquiry would be duly reported.

After considering the facts presented, Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ordered the Cinnamon Garden Police to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the incident and to take steps to arrest and produce before court any suspects found to be involved.
