CID continues hunt for woman over Rs. 150 Mn fraud

Colombo, Oct. 29 (Daily Mirror) - The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is still searching for a woman wanted in connection with a financial fraud involving Rs. 150 million.

The CID released a photograph of the suspect on September 18 last year, appealing to the public for assistance in locating her. Despite these efforts, police said the woman has yet to be found.

Police said the investigation began following a complaint that a plot of land worth Rs. 150 million had been acquired using forged documents. Investigators allege that the woman signed the forged deed while impersonating another person.

The CID has urged anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Commercial Crimes Investigation Unit at 0112-2434504 or the CID Operations Room at 0112-2422176.
