Bus conductor arrested over assault at Galle Face

Colombo, Nov. 4 (Daily Mirror) - A 35-year-old bus conductor has been arrested in connection with the assault of an individual in the Galle Face area in Fort, a video of which has been widely circulated on social media.

According to Police, the video shows a man being attacked by a group using a wooden pole. Investigations revealed that the assault was linked to a dispute over a bus ticket between a passenger and the conductor of a private passenger transport bus.

Officers from the Fort Police Station arrested the suspect at the Fort bus stand yesterday (03). The suspect, a resident of Panadura, was produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court today (04) and was remanded until November 14.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Fort Police.

Please give this conductor maximum punishment! It will teach the other conductors, who speak to passengers in filth, a lesson. This is how things work when you question these rowdy bus conductors and drivers on issuing tickets, giving back the balance money, reckless driving , the list is unending!
