Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga set the stage for another controversy as she said the Easter Sunday terrorist attack was something orchestrated to enable former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to come to power in 2019.

She said then President Maitripala Sirisena should be held responsible for it. She also charged that the Rajapaksas were trying to gain control of Sri Lanka Freedom Party with the connivance of Mr. Sirisena.

Eureka! Eureka! Realization too late. But make sure you don't run on the street like Archimedes! Who benefited as the direct result of bomb blast? Muslims? Christians? Tamils? Not even Buddhists! It is simple Math! The curse of more than 250 innocent Catholics who paid with their lives, not even knowing why they had to die! This curse will be cast on everyone who were a party to the crime. Nobody can escape from it. Talismans will be of no use. Otherwise religions will be a joke! Many more to come, when every single person who planned, executed, aided/abetted, die one by one in disgrace and in pathetic situations. Even the family is not safe from curse.

Did Easter Sunday attacks have a change on electoral map? SLPP already had a landslide victory at 2018 February local govt election which was before Easter Sunday attacks. Also GR's presidential election main opponent Sajith won Catholic areas vote (e.g. Negombo, Wattala) even after Easter Sunday attacks.

Money is not a criteria when one is brainwashed towards a certain affiliation and motive. Even though the original religions in all faiths never approved crime or violence, today many persons following those religions manipulate and re-interpret them for their own agenda's... examples are Bin Laden and Gnanasara. There are others who will hook on to these persons to execute their own agenda. For example, many Islamic nations funded Bin Laden while many Sinhalese Politicians back Gnanasara. Those Muslims who executed the Easter Bombings are one group who were "used" by another group (they have had conversations with Army Intelligence Units who are Sinhalese) and we know that only the Rajapakse's are close to the criminal elements of State Armed Forces.

Now the real truth is appearing in bits and pieces. For Rajapakses lives of people is something they can take with ease for granted - if they want power, Why did they not try this heinous act on a Buddhist Pansala? Things would have been quite different. Regardless of the event, Rajapase's will pay their dues when the time comes for them to depart this planet for good. Gandhi once said that, tyrants may seem to win initially BUT they fall quite pathetically at the end. God has his ways to deliver justice.

You are absolutely right. The comments from many others who simply believe what CBK has said really indicate the level of stupidity of Sri Lankans. One time these stupid Lankans voted for GR thinking that he was the best and then now accuse him of this ? Then they chased him out and are now apparently happy with the one who was rejected by majority at all previous elections. So the stupid prevails. Kumaratunga must understand one thing clearly, that Rajapaksas never wanted the leadership of SLFP to back to power, but the SLFP will be alive if it is with RAJAPAKSAS, if not, SLFP will become NOWHERE the way it remains now. SLPP is a strong party that won the Hearts and Mind of the People which with the US conspiracy brought Ranil to Power to DIVIDE the Country for TAMILS namely TAMIL EELAM. Rajapaksas are willing to keep the country as UNITED SRI LANKA to enable the whole community live peacefully.

@GHT: a patriotic citizen of SL should admit that all leaders of all ruling parties of the past and present have done nothing to bring in communal harmony in the country. They all messed up and they are the reason for the current plight of the country. Begging from other countries and looting what was begged is something that we have been seeing or hearing since independence. If we had even one right and righteous leader, our country would have been 10 times better than Singapore. What we lost is huge!! But unfortunately, majority of the People who are ignorant and idiots will never understand that. Wait and see... more to come!
