Colombo, April 22 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo Fort Magistrate Isuru Neththikumara today issued a warrant on Priyanka Nayomali Wijenayake, the wife of former SriLankan Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena, over the investigations into the Airbus transaction.

The Magistrate also inquired from the Criminal Investigation Department as to why there had been a delay in executing a red notice against another suspect in the case, Shamindra Rajapaksa. He further ordered that the suspect be immediately arrested and produced before court.

The Criminal Investigation Department informed court that, in relation to a separate investigation conducted by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court over the same incident, former CEO Kapila Chandrasena is currently being held in remand custody.

The Magistrate further ordered that the case pending before the Fort Magistrate’s Court be called again on May 20 and that if the suspect remains in remand custody on that date, he should be produced before open court.
