Colombo, Oct. 30 (Daily Mirror) - Eighteen Sri Lanka Army athletes were promoted to their substantive ranks in recognition of their exceptional performances at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025 held in Ranchi, India.
The promotion ceremony was held today at the Army Headquarters, where Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Army, lauded their achievements.
A total of 59 Sri Lankan athletes competed at the championship, including 30 from the Army, helping the nation secure 12 gold, 8 silver, and 7 bronze medals, for a total of 27 medals.
The Army Chief also presented cash incentives to the athletes, praising their dedication and encouraging continued excellence in future competitions.
