Two 15-year-old schoolboys who had threatned to share on the internet the manipulated nude photos of two schoolgirls of 17 and 20 years of age were produced before Galle Additional Magistrate Lakmini Vidanagama and released on personal bail in Rs. 100,000 with two sureties each.

The magistrate called for a probation report on the two boys.

The suspects are Year 10 students of a school in Akmeemana and residents of Narawala in Akmeemana.

Investigations revealed that the two boys who had  wooed the two grils without any positive response from them had taken their photos secretly and threatned to swap their faces on nude photos and share them on the internet.

The girls who were frightened of this threat had complained to the Akeemana police through elders.
Akmeemana police arrested and produced the boys before court on suspicion of criminal intimidation and sexual harassment.

The case as postponed for July 15.

Severe punishment plus probation for the next 20 or more years. Make them report to the police station every weekend too. At such a young age thinking of such heinous crimes and manipulation. These poor girls will be affected for years to come. Hope counselling is provided to them and expenses of these councillors to be paid by these 2 boys parents. Parents wanting to have children but not monitoring them should be taken to task.

CHOPS THE BOYS DOWN PART OR PARENTS TO BE ARRESTED AND PUT THEM BEHIND THE BAR

Publish the photos of the girls with faces swapped to scare others from making similar complaints Wednesday, 08 May 2024 07:20 AM

As parent of three girls, all still young, but uncle to many boys I find this whole matter is only going to make things worse for girls in question. If I were relative of the boys I would find way to publish photos on the boys behalf to make sure the troublesome girls learn lesson.

Once proven , just let them go and publish their photos, names and addresses in public places. Near school, Tution classes, shopping malls. Bus and train station. That’s it! Don’t waste public funds on prison / probation terms. They will learn a good lesson, so will others who intended to do such things!

Boys can do that anyhow now, and they should do for revenge Wednesday, 08 May 2024 07:18 AM

This matter is over blown. Even relative of the boys can swap photos of the girls and put them up now. The two boys are only 15 year old, girls getting scared like this will only result in other wanting to do worse to them.

We must not try them in a kangaroo Court. We need to remember that these boys are minors and a proper Court of Law must take the decision according to prevailing legal system in Sri Lanka. No one should ever take the Law into their own hands , although we sometimes take issue strongly about certain serious happenings.

Brave girls. Hope more girls follow these two amazing students. Speak out, don't let families or friends make you keep quiet.
