The Colombo High Court today dismissed the petition filed by former defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa asking that he and the seven others be discharged from the Avant Garde Case.
The Bribery Commission (BC) had filed 19 charges against Mr. Rajapaksa and seven others for causing a Rs.11.4 billion loss to the government by permitting Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Limited to operate a floating armoury.

Sambo you keep praying that he will arrive in US soil ...... Up-on his arrival he will be greeted by the FBI and will arrange a comfortable dark room with a large mirror to look at him self everyday. In the US they will do a better job on these criminals that what we do here. SL is a lawless country that protects the criminals.

Well in this case it's a crime but, from the other side it's a service to our country and countries who help to carry the service. What's went wrong here was there weapons fixed to that ship which was really expensive and it seems to be brought from black market. But more than the lost the ship service had given good money to srilankan navy. Because retired people from those departments were eligible to carry out those weapons and with special training . The past government wanted to have license for those weapons but still it's expensive to it. But now present government establishing the event, government had to pay that amount! And the ship that was modified is still in custody.
