Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, continues to lead the air cargo industry by winning the coveted ‘Overall Carrier of the Year’ award at Payload Asia Awards 2015. This is the third consecutive year Emirates SkyCargo has received this prestigious award.

The honour was accepted by Emirates Vice President of Far East and Australasia Cargo Ravishankar Mirle at a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, in Singapore. The ceremony took place in conjunction with the 2015 Payload Asia Conference, an annual trade event for the air cargo industry.

“We are grateful to have been named ‘Overall Carrier of the Year’ yet again and would like to thank the magazine’s readers, including many of our customers, for voting for us,” said Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Cargo Nabil Sultan. “This achievement recognizes the hard work of our teams stationed across our global network and the value they bring to our customers each day.”

Emirates SkyCargo was initially shortlisted for the award by an esteemed panel of judges. Readers of Payload Asia were then invited to vote for their favourite carrier. Criteria for the award included the carrier’s network coverage and development strategy, operational performance, customer service and product innovations, as well as market leadership, responsiveness and adaptability.

Emirates SkyCargo is the largest air cargo carrier in the world. With a young and efficient fleet of 240 aircraft, including 15 freighters, SkyCargo’s route network spans 147 destinations in 79 countries on six continents, ensuring significant global reach and connectivity among the trade routes of the world. In its 2014-15 financial year, Emirates SkyCargo carried 2.4 million tonnes of cargo across its network, contributing 15 percent – or US $ 3.4 billion – to the airline’s total transport revenue.
