Ravindu Laksiri and Fathoum Issadeen clinched the Men’s and Women’s title respectively at the SLS Open Squash Championships worked off at the Sri Lanka Air Force Squash Complex
in Ratmalana.
Laksiri, the reigning National Men’s champion beat the bottom seed Shamil Wakeel 3-1 in the final while Issadeen secured a 3-0 victory against the promising Sameer Deen in the Women’s’ final.
This was the first Ranking Tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Squash (SLS) in 2019 which had over 300 entries, including many junior and veteran competitors.
Chairman of the National Squash Selection Committee Rear Admiral (Retired) Palitha Weerasinghe graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
