A goal in each half enabled Blue Star SC, Kalutara to beat their home-town rivals Red Star SC 2-0 in the opening match of the Lanka Super League Pre-Season football tournament at Sugathadasa Stadium on Wednesday.
Blue Star dominated the game, playing at pace and enjoying more possession, and were able to convert their 1-0 half-time lead into a comfortable victory.
Mohammed Fazal scored a brilliant solo goal in the 15th minute before Mohammed Rizan slotted in a cross in the 57th minute.
In the second match yesterday, New Youngs SC drew 1-all with Seahawks SC.
