Former Kingswood College, Police Sports Club and current Navy Sports Club playmaker Mohamed Abzal has pulled out from the training sessions for the Asian Rugby Championship which will take place in Chinese Taipei later this month.
Meanwhile, former St. Peter’s College and CH and FC’s dashing winger Anuradha Herath has also pulled out of the tour due to a knee injury sustained during the concluded League Tournament.
As a result, the Sri Lanka Pool is now reduced to 32 players and the final 26-member touring squad will be announced next week.
The National Pool players are currently training under the guidance of New Zealander, Matt Lee with Fazil Marija and Viraj Prasanna as assistant coaches.
