The award ceremony is the pinnacle event of the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards campaign and it is where the worthiest brands, brand custodians and managers receive due recognition. Judged by a panel of eminent professionals led by Tilan Wijesekera, the Deputy General Manager of Retail Banking at Seylan Bank PLC, the applicants of SLIM Brand Excellence go through a comprehensive and thorough process until only the best of the best are deemed worthy to walk away with the Award. This year saw the introduction of a new award category – the SME Export Brand of the Year, as a means of further boosting the standard of that particular segment of the industry. The highest number of 101 corporate entrees was recorded this year, which is a proof of how well this awards platform has been accepted within the marketing fraternity.
“It gives me great pride to see all the members at SLIM, especially the SLIM Brand Excellence organizing committee come together, to ensure the success of one of the key events on the institute’s calendar. SLIM has been responsible for the development of marketing in Sri Lanka ever since its initiation and the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards is one such means by which we strive to make our goal a reality” stated Mr. Suranjith Swaris, the President of SLIM.
“At SLIM Brand Excellence, everyone is a winner. The scientific process of evaluation put in place by Professor Uditha Liyanage is both enlightening and comprehensive. If brands invest in adopting this strategic framework, this alone will pave the path towards success. It will also help brands to benchmark their performance, because it can be used as a means of measurement as well”, stated Ms. Thilanka Abeywardena, the Vice President of SLIM.
I am proud of the hard work and energy my committee has put into the organization of SLIM Brand Excellence 2019. I must also acknowledge the guidance and support we have received from Council of Management, Executive Committee, and the Staff of SLIM in this endeavor. I would like to thank all our sponsors for their generous support. With all your support, I believe that SLIM Brand Excellence 2019 will be a phenomenal success and looking forward to seeing you all passionate marketers to witness this grand awards ceremony on the 29th” stated Mr. Ahamed Aroos, Project Chairperson of SLIM Brand Excellence 2019.
