A group of Diyawanna politicos including some purohitas in the Gampaha District are set to complain to the top political authorities against the Gampaha female forest conservation officer, who had been vocal about protecting the environment, saying that she is obstructing certain projects they are keen on implementing for the good of the people.

These politicos have decided to make the complaint to the top political authorities as the top team member handling the forest conservation subject had paid no heed to their representations made earlier.

They say that they would not be able to conduct a successful campaign at the next polls if the female forest officer were allowed to have the upper hand.

The politicos have also decided to stage street protests if the top political authorities failed to rein in the female forest officer, they say.
