Continuously setting the benchmark in the fashion industry, Hameedia, Sri Lanka’s leading menswear brand, recently partnered with the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) Resort Show 2016, for the fourth consecutive year. This year’s show took place from 1 to 3 October 2015 in Galle. Hameedia’s partnership with CFW extends over 11 years and the company has supported the HSBC CFW Resort Show since its inception four years ago. On the second day of the highly anticipated show, Hameedia unveiled its sophisticated and chic men’s resortwear collection.
The FH evening wear collection for the CFW Resort Show 2016 featured a mix of trendy printed short sleeve shirts, casual shorts, as well as a collection of jackets and kurthas. Drawing its inspiration from hues of neutral earthy tones, the colours featured in the collection were natural shades of white, ecru, blue and green. The collection comprised sleek and comfortable pieces made from natural cottons and linen materials, which are well suited for tropical climates and are ideal for any occasion.
Hameedia has been a driving force in the local fashion industry and has represented Sri Lanka on prestigious fashion ramps across the world. Last year Hameedia partnered with CFW for Asian Fashion Week (AFW), which took place in Surabaya City, Indonesia. Hameedia unveiled its stylish FH collection at the AFW show and dazzled the audience with three different looks, which were inspired by the colour theme of blue. The Resort edition of the HSBC CFW Resort Show 2016 is extremely relevant to Sri Lankan fashion because it enables the country to make a mark internationally as a leader in resortwear, which is a growing fashion category around the world, as well showcasing the iconic Galle Fort as an important tourist destination.
Commenting on the partnership with HSBC Colombo Fashion Week, Fouzul Hameed, Managing Director, Hameedia stated, “HSBC CFW has become the most highly anticipated fashion showcase in Sri Lanka and the Resort edition is now a highlight in the Asian fashion calendar. Resortwear is a high potential fashion category in Sri Lanka, which is fast becoming a resortwear hub with its bountiful beaches, breathtaking architecture and rich cultural heritage. HSBC CFW Resort 2016 also highlighted Galle as a top tourist destination in Sri Lanka and the iconic Galle Fort served as a striking backdrop for this year’s show. Hameedia and CFW have worked together for over a decade to uplift Sri Lankan fashion, and both organizations are currently represented on the Fashion Design Council of Sri Lanka. Strategic partnerships help us to significantly expand our brand presence and reach. We recently received an immense amount of international recognition at the Mr. England Competition in the UK when the pageant finalists took to the runway in our exclusive Envoy collection. A complete collection was then gifted to the Mr. England winner. Hameedia focuses on delivering quality fashion that is on par with international standards and partnering with CFW helps us to raise the profile of the Hameedia brand, both locally and internationally.”
Further highlighting the partnership, Ajai V. Singh, President, Colombo Fashion Week stated, “We would like to extend our appreciation to Fouzul Hameed and Hameedia for supporting us since the inception of the Resort Show. It is a pleasure having Sri Lanka’s leading menswear brand on board. In the many years that Hameedia has partnered with us, we have witnessed the growth of CFW and the Resort Show, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership in the future.”
