Avurudhu is a season to be happy, Some would say Avurudhu is commercialised; yet with our life styles those commercialised goods too add a bit of colour to Avurudhu. It feels so good to get gifts and gift hunting too is important. With the sky rocketing cost of living it is a bit difficult to buy gifts for many. Hence many would go to Pettah with the expectation of buying goods at a cheaper price. Pettah, the main commercial hub in Sri Lanka has an array of goods catering to many classes of society. Their sale is a deciding factor as it is a sign which signifies the purchasing power of citizens.
