Power supply to several areas was interrupted when a lorry transporting a stock of 300 bags of cement veered off the road at Thisnampolagama on the Maho-Nagollagama road and toppled after causing damage to the high tension power transmission line.
Investigations revealed that the overloaded lorry went out of control on the wet and slippery road due to excessive speed. The lorry was wrecked in the accident but the driver and the assistant escaped with minor injuries.Sergeant  Ekanayake (25848) and PC  Mangala (30880) are conducting further investigations.
