Using of worn-out tyres; Farmers to become exception

There will be a relaxation of  new procedure banning vehicles running with worn-out tyres, a Government Minister assured in Parliament yesterday.  Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage assured that he would hold a discussion with the IGP and see the law relaxed for the vehicles used by farmers such as tractors. “ I will talk to the IGP today itself and try to rectify the situation,” the Minister said in response to an oral question raised by MP Rohana Bandara in the House last morning.  MP Bandara said the farmers who used vehicles such as tractors could not afford to replace their tyres with new ones today. “ As such, see that you do provide some concession to them,” the MP said,
