The tourist train operating from Kandy to Demodara daily for the convenience of local and foreign tourists made its maiden trip on Sunday morning (05) . 

The train will leave Kandy at 7.00 am and arrive in Demodara at 2.20 pm, and on its return journey, it will leave Demodara at 3.45 pm and reach Kandy at 9.35 pm. A senior official of the railway department said the train would stop at tourist attractions including St. Clares Falls, Elgin Falls, Kithalella Falls, Sri Pada Range, Great Western Range, Pattipola and Idalgashinna Railway Stations, the Summit Level 18 Tunnel, Haputale, and Demodara Nine Arch Bridge.
