The 61 people including 54 children who were killed in a bomb attack on an orphanage at Sencholai at Devipuram in Mullthivue during the military conflicts in 2006 were commemorated yesterday. However the commemoration was held in a low key on the instructions of the police in keeping with the health guidelines.
The bomb attack resulted in the death of 61 people mostly children and seriously injured more than 100 others.
Former Provincial Council Member M.K.Sivajilingam and the relatives of the deceased participated in the commemoration.
