Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said steps would be taken to increase the capacity to manufacture veterinary vaccines at the Animal Virus Laboratory in Polgolla.
He undertook an inspection tour last Friday and said that the laboratory had the capacity to manufacture 250,000 units and it would be improved to produce up to one million units
“We intend to reduce imports of veterinary vaccines. We will introduce new equipment for the laboratory in place of the old ones in use,” he said.
