The main character of this story is a middle-aged carpenter from a town in the Western Province where they say a tree meets another tree.
His wife who was employed in a private firm gave up her job in the wake of the
Coronavirus problem.
One day, the wife complained that she was suffering from pain on the left side of the chest and she wondered whether it was a sign that she was having heart trouble.
The husband consoled her saying that she had no reason to worry as the heart was located on the right side.
About a week later, the wife complained of pain on the right side of the chest. Then the husband said:
“Are you mad? The heart is on the left side of the chest. Therefore, you have no reason to worry!”
The husband’s flippant reply sent the wife into a rage. She had told the husband:
“When I say there is pain on the left side of the chest, you say the heart is located on the right side. When I complain there is pain on the right side, you say the heart is on the left side! Do you mean that my heart moves from one side to the other every week?”
The husband, for once had no reply to give, they say.
