The Railways Department has decided to increase the number of train services operating on all lines with effect from today, the Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters’
Union (SLSMU) said.
They said 64 train services on the main-line, 74 trains along the coastal line, 12 on the Kelani Valley line, six trains on the Northern line and 26 trains on the Puttlam line will run during the week from today.
All train services have been added to the railway time table to make it easy for commuters.
Meanwhile, the SLSMU said that the long-distance services will not operate.
“However, most of the long-distance and goods trains may be on the tracks during this month,” the SLSMU said.
