Former SIS Director SDIG Nilantha Jayawardena yesterday informed the PCoI probing Easter Sunday attacks that he had never visited his seniors including the President or the Prime Minister of the country to wish them on New Year and other occasions.
A question was raised by a Commissioner, as the director of SIS why Jayawardena had failed to convey about the foreign intelligence on possible terror attack when he visited his seniors for Sinhala and Tamil New Year in 2019.
Responding to the question SDIG Jayawardena said that he had sent the particular foreign intelligence about the possible attack to relevant officials and it was their duty to follow on it.
“I have served in Police Service for over 20 years and I have never gone to wish my seniors with gifts for any occasions,” he said.
