Certain MPs had mentioned in the House that a group of Indians had been brought to the Brandix Ltd. without going through the quarantine process with the intervention by its security head and urged the government to make a statement in that regard as it tarnishes the image of the Company, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha De Silva said yesterday
He told Parliament that a post was also circulating in social media on that matter and said it was a serious allegation to make on a company which contributed a lot to country’s economy.
“It is good if the Defence Minister or the State Minister makes a statement on this matter whether it is false or there had been such an incident,” he said.
Minister Bandula Gunawardane said the Government had not made any statement citing the said company or its staff and pointed out that it was an Opposition MP who had mentioned it in the House.
“The Government or the security officials have not made any statement citing this Company or this incident. The Opposition should act responsibly,” he said.
