he Kandy Bash which will once again meet on April  6 at Havelock Park, is a get-together organized by the Kandy Schools’ Past Pupils’ Association (KSPPA).
KSPPA consists of past pupils of schools in Kandy. The first Kandy Bash was organized in 2007 before the association was officially formed, and was represented by eight Kandy schools.
In 2008 the association was formed and in that year the event was a huge success with the past pupils of Dharmaraja College, Mahamaya Girls’ College, St. Anthony’s College, Good Shepherd Convent, Trinity College, Hillwood College, Pushpadana Girls’ College, St. Sylvester’s College, Vidyartha College, Kingswood College, Girls’ High School and St. Anthony’s Convent. This association was formed to build up camaraderie among the past pupils of Kandy schools. So, every year the event is organised in grand fashion and includes games, live music, entertainment, food, beverages and many more.
Last year’s Kandy Bash 2018 was held at Maitland Crescent CH & FC Grounds, which was well attended and organised, and this time as well, it is hoped to be a grand one.

"The main aim of organising this event is to strengthen the unity and cooperation among the schools"

The main aim of organising this event is to strengthen the unity and cooperation among the schools, to extend friendship and to raise funds for the association which would be utilized for the development of leadership skills of students from the member schools.
This year’s Organising Committee comprises co-chairperson former Antonian Cricketer Pramodth Fernando, Rashika Wijekoon St. Anthony’s Convent Basket Ball and Netball player and Secretary Shanika Thalwatte former Hillwoodian.
