Appreciation Night of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) was held on Friday, March 15, 2019, to felicitate the Attorneys who had completed 50 years at the Bar for their valuable contribution made to the legal profession. The Chief Guest was Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya, PC, and the Guest of Honour was Supreme Court Judge Padman Surasena. 

President of the BASL U.R. De Silva presided at the event. The Attorneys who completed 50 years of excellence were: Daya Weththasinghe,  Franklyn Amerasinghe, S.L.A.E. Pinto, Sittampalam PC, Denzil Gray, Nihal W. Rajakaruna, Raja Collure, Gritakumar Chitty, Ms Pushparani Nanayakkara, A.E. Pararajasingham, J.M.Gunatilake, Mrs R.K. Jayawardena, H.B. Rathnayake, D.C.R.Cooray, E. Viveganathan,  Arumugan Chinniah, N. Abdul Rahman, S.C.B. Walagampaya, Ariya B. Rekawa PC, Mrs E.S. Rekawa, Dr Chandradasa Nanayakkara, Edmund Rajapakshe, Dulip F.R.
