A 25-year-old wildlife officer was killed after a group of poachers opened fire at wildlife officers who were on a raid at the Gal Oya National Park in Dambagalla last night.
They said the deceased was attached to the Inginiyagala wildlife office.
Four suspects were arrested over the shooting along with a 12-bore fire arm. (Sumanasiri Gunathilake)
