The official website (fuel.gov.lk) of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has been temporarily shut down.

A special notice in this regard was displayed on the website from this morning.

The online platform was introduced to check the fuel availability in fuel stations around the country and the volume of fuel available for dispensing.

"We are very sorry for the inconvenience. The operation had to be shut down after instruction by relevant authorities. But we will be back soon," the notice said.

Meanwhile, the Power and Energy Ministry urges the public not to gather in queues near filling stations where there is no supply on that particular day. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Pricing policy by shed owners Saturday, 18 June 2022 05:09 PM

This website could not keep pace with arbitrary decision taken by by shed owners to stop pumping fuel at some stage saying the stock is over. Then they re-start pumping fuel at a higher price, saying this is new stock. This happened yesterday at several petrol sheds.
