Vaccination of children aged 12-19 with congenital diseases begins



Vaccination of children with congenital diseases who are between the ages of 12 and 19 years commenced today in Colombo, Kurunegala and Anuradhapura districts, Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva said.

He said the children will be vaccinated with Pfizer at their clinics in hospitals under the doctors' observation.

The Commander said the vaccination of children with congenital diseases also will start in other districts simultaneously.

Gen. Silva urged that the other children between age 12 and 19 not to visit hospitals for vaccination purpose.

As per available statistics, there would be around 50,000 children with congenital diseases in the country, the Army chief asserted.
