Ten scoolchildren in Passara test Covid-19 positive

Ten schoolchildren, including two schoolgirls of the Passara National school in the Badulla district have contracted COVID-19, an officer of the Passara Regional Public Health Inspector's (PHI) office E.Naguleswaran said.

He told the Daily Mirror that all the schoolchildren have been sent for quarantine and their associates were ordered to serve home quarantine.

"PCR tests were conducted last Friday in view to sent these children to the National Independence day parade. 

However, the PCR test results came last Monday (18)," he said. They are studying in Grade 12 and 13 in the commerce stream, Mr. Naguleswaran added.
