Super Diesel cargo to be unloaded tomorrow, more fuel expected: Minister

The Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera today said that 30,000MT of Super Diesel cargo is to be unloaded tomorrow.

In a Twitter post, he said the second Ural crude oil cargo is due to arrive later today.

Meanwhile, another auto diesel cargo is due between Thursday (25) and Friday (26) while another cargo of 92 octane petrol is scheduled to arrive between Saturday (27) and Monday (29).

Moreover, he said, the distribution of kerosene and jet fuel began yesterday. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

You are doing great! Keep up the good work. Big request! Please maintain the ban on 3 wheeler imports . We have more than enough already. They are worse than the most dangerous terrorist organisations. They ruined our society, made good possible productive youth drug dealers or various underworld characters. Your QR distribution system shortens the queues at the gas stations, but cannot hide the fact that not even 50% of the demand can be covered. That the not perfect QR system has become necessary only shows that the government is managing a shortage in a pathetic way. This system just means another decline in the economy with no recovery in sight. For many non-export oriented sectors that cannot buy their fuel needs with dollars, it is bankruptcy.

QR system is a short term solution. But as a nation we have to have a long term solution for the fuel crisis.

Only give Super for trourist Luxury vehicle Wednesday, 24 August 2022 12:06 PM

A lot of wealthy person's vehicles only work with the Super fuels. Ordinary person vehicle work fine with petrol and diesel. Only business like tourist luxury vehicle should be permitted these Super type fuels, and maybe price higher for private (non business) luxury use. Otherwise private luxury vehicle use of more expensive Super fuel will mean more dollar lost, and then burden general public with no dollar to buy any fuel.
