Submission of nominations: Schools in Rajagiriya closed on Monday

All schools in the three divisions in the Colombo Education Zone and three schools in Sri Jayewardenepura Education Zone will be closed next Monday due to nominations being filed for the presidential election, the Education Ministry said.

It said in a statement that all schools in the Borella, Colombo Central and Colombo South divisions in the Colombo Education Zone and Rajagiriya President’s College, Hewavitharana Maha Vidyalaya and Hewavitharana Model Primary School in the Sri Jayewardenepura Education Zone will be closed.

The Ministry said the decision was taken following a request made by the Chairman of the Elections Commission.
