Special police teams have been deployed to raid parties and public gatherings organised in violation of quarantine rules and regulations throughout the country.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said all officers in charge of police stations have been instructed to conduct surveillance operations to raid parties and public gatherings specially in the night.
“Special police teams have been deployed in order to conduct the raids if we receive information regarding parties and public gatherings,” he said.
The DIG said a total of 1038 persons have been arrested yesterday for violating of quarantine rules and regulations.
