Showery condition was expected to enhance to some extent over most parts of the island, particularly in South-Western areas, the Department of Meteorology said today.
They advised fairly heavy falls about 100 mm could be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces.
“Showers or thundershowers would occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces,” it said.
Showers or thundershowers would occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
As there might be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers, the Department of Meteorology requested general public to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by lightning activity.
