Bandula is one of few diplomats who tried to correct Sri Lanka 's image in the western countries which had been tarnished by LTTE diaspora through 80% false propaganda. He was admired by moderate Tamils as well.

It is with great sorrow that i read this news, I was such a great fan of his PATHIKADE program on Sirasa channel. I got up daily looking forward to his excellent, interesting take on such a diverse variety of subject matter, whether it was politics, Arts, or just on ordinary people. He will be greatly missed....

Heartfelt condolences In SriLanka good people never long live

Noor Nizam Friday, 05 March 2021 06:10 PM

May God AllMighty bless "nibbana" according to the Buddhist belief - "Jannathul Firdouz" according to Islam. Bandula was a "diplomatic commodore" who fought the LTTE front lobby groups onslaughter of Sri Lanka's sovereignty in Canada during his tenure as the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto. Even though there were only a handfull of us, dedicated Sri Lankan patriots who were with him in his mission for his "Maathruboomiya", he fought the battle to the end, then. It is sad that Sri Lanka has lost a great "warrior" journalist diplomat today. Noor Nizam - Canada.

Bandula whom I met in Jan 2020 at the Hospital told me that the politician whom be backed let him down badly when he fell sick and it was only Maharajah Rajamahendran who paid for all his medical expenses. True colours of our so called popular politician.

    Ranaweera Friday, 05 March 2021 09:57 PM

Reply to German , I have been to more countries than you can imagine. I have seen how LTTE deceived Canadian politicians by showing Kataragama devotees as torture of Tamils. I have seen how Bandula did one to one meetings with those politicians with proof that those LTTE guys were lying most of the time. If you live in Sri Lanka now Micheal, thank Gotabhaya that you can walk on the street without fear of LTTE bombs. Same for Tamils in the North who have proper life after 30 years.

Charles Perera Friday, 05 March 2021 11:30 PM

A Good man you were, Bandula. It was a pleasure to see you in Pathikada. aurevoir.

    Mathanamutha Saturday, 06 March 2021 12:51 AM

@Noor Nizam: It was easy for anyone as the LTTE was a liability to the Tamils at that time. Now the table has changed and you know what I mean!

David Dias Saturday, 06 March 2021 02:33 AM

May your Soul rest in Peace in Heaven.
