Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa yesterday criticized the government for its not heeding his earlier request to call up an all party conference to decide on a course of action to arrest the current COVID-19 pandemic and to find solutions to several other issues.
Making a statement, Mr. Premadasa said the government had failed to arrest the ongoing pandemic and to get the much needed COVID-19 vaccine. “the fishermen have fallen from the frying pan into the fire due to the tragedy of the X-press Pearl which has brought their livelihoods to a halt,” he said.
“The livelihood of farmers have also come to a standstill due to the ban on the importation of fertilizer. Even the livelihood of those who depend on the Apparell industry is also in jeopardy,” he added.
Meanwhile SJB MP Harshana Rajakaruna who addressed a press conference said the present rulers should resign from their current positions and hand over the government to persons who are capable of taking correct decisions. (YOHAN PERERA)

Sajith first of all get well soon, rather than putting un-wanted issues to your head. We need you for the next Elections to lead the show.
