SC judge withdraws from considering FR filed by 20-day-old COVID victim’s parents

One of the five Supreme Court Judges, who was in the bench to consider a Fundamental Rights petition filed by the parents of a 20-day-old infant who succumbed to covid-19 while being treated at the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital, has withdrawn from considering the petition today.

Supreme Court Judge Yasantha Kodagoda, a member of the panel, said he was withdrawing from the petition due to personal reasons.

Accordingly, the petition was adjourned for consideration till May 25. (Yoshitha Perera)

    Poor child who died of Covid-19 in the “PRESTIGIOUS “ hospital. Doctors have no clues and it is the strength one’s immune system that can save the person. All what the doctors can do is to give oxygen and that is all. But we keep thinking of the doctors as “EXPERTS and SAVIOURS”.
