Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Rishard Bathiudeen had informed the party’s parliamentary group that he will not cross over to the government, MPs who attended the group meeting said yesterday.

An MP who did not wished to be named told Daily Mirror that Bathiudeen had informed the group that he will not cross over.

“Bathiudeen while assuring us that he would not cross over-explained what he had to undergo since the Easter Sunday attacks. He informed us that his brother was falsely accused of being involved in the attacks,” the MP said.

It was also reported that the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa had informed all SJB MPs not to make public comments on Bathiudeen.

“Mr. Premadasa told us not make public comments on Bathiudeen and that he will deal with the situation himself,” the MP said. (Yohan Perera)
