The Department of Registrations of Persons (DRP) today requested the public to contact the department and reserve a prior date before visiting the DRP offices to obtain their National Identity Cards (NICs), DRP Commissioner General Viyani Gunatileke said.
He told the Daily Mirror that reserving the date to obtain NICs was mandatory as no one would be allowed to visit without a confirmed appointment.
"Persons who wish to visit and obtain NICs should contact the DRP offices of relevant Divisional Secretariats including the head office or call over the following telephone numbers 0115226126, 0115226100," he added.(Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
