Rajitha agrees with Ranil on COVID task force
What former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said about the COVID-19 task force is correct as it has been a failure, an SJB MP said yesterday.
SJB MP and former Minister of Health Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said the COVID-19 task force has been a failure as it had failed to control the pandemic.“what Ranil said was correct, as the task force does not have any power,” he said, responding to a question raised by the journalists at a press conference last afternoon.
“The task force comprises health sector officials and medical experts, but they don’t have a say in it. Only political leadership makes decisions in this task force,” he added.
The task of controlling the pandemic should be handed over to the medical experts. We predicted a disaster situation some time back and our prediction had come true today.(Yohan Perera)
