The Commissioner General of Prisons, J. W. Tennakoon a short while ago said he received the order by President Maithripala Sirisena to release Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), General Secretary Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera.
Ven. Gnanasara Thera was sentenced to 19 years imprisonment to be served in six years for contempt of court.

Why does not the President immediately release all other criminals who have a similar length of prison sentence or even a shorter one? That would only be fair. This hate preacher Gnanasara, who did harm to Buddhism and the land should be the last to deserve a pardon.
