Whilst we all jump on the bandwagon of screaming for human rights, etc, let's not forget how lorry drives use the roads, bulldozing their way through. While what happened is not the right thing to do, it's a spur of the moment reaction on the part of the policeman who has to endure this kind of thing every time he is on duty. What we need is better testing methods for issuing driving licences and, an all round revamp and training for the police force on how to handle their duties towards the public. Also stricter rules, increase in random checks and revoking licences of offenders should be considered if we are to curb the driving offences.

You can keep your comment for yourself. We very well know how these police thugs conduct themselves. They are known as "jara pappas"

Jen - lack of proper legal systems, punishment, training and discipline is the cause for this Policemen to commence Kangaroo Court punishment. The Police of SL think they can do anything while hidden inside that uniform while that driver knows how to get around later to get his release. This is yakko country.

I concur Jen G. Erratic reckless drivers have to be disciplined too. Seems like the some readers find it hard to absorb a rational sensible view and in return turn to insults.
