Oct. 31 declared a National Day of mourning for Colombo, Gampaha

The government has declared October 31, as a national day of mourning for Colombo and Gampaha Districts as a mark of respect for the late Most Ven.Velamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Nayaka Thera, the Home Affairs State Ministry said.

They said the ministry has announced to stop slaughtering animals for meat and close the meat-selling centres in the Colombo and Gampaha districts. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
