No changes have been made in the method of admitting students to schools as per Grade 5 scholarship examination marks and no changes made in the number of students could be admitted to each school, Education Ministry Secretary Prof. Kapila Perera said.

He said this while participating in a discussion at the Ministry today. He said parents were protesting opposite the Ministry of Education recently claiming that the government was not paying attention to this and that no injustice had been done to children.

Though the children have obtained higher marks in the scholarship examination, the enrollment of students in schools has not changed in any of the past five years from 2017 to 2021. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
