Fairly heavy rainfalls which could exceed 75mm are expected in some parts of the country during the coming days, the Department of Meteorology said today.
Rainfalls about 75 mm were forecasted in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Central Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts.
Seas from Mannar, Colombo, Galle via Hambantota up to Potuvil were predicted to be rough while gusty winds which could travel at 45 Kmph were also forecasted.
Severe lighting warnings which were issued a few days back were still effective according to the Department. People were asked to take precautions against lightning. (Yohan Perera)
