Lesser than 5,000 PCR tests within last two days: NOCPCO

The number of PCR tests daily conducted in the country within last two days was reported as low as 5,000, according to the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

Accordingly, a total number of 4,160 PCR tests were done on Sunday, while 4,379 tests conducted yesterday.

A total number of 215 COVID-19 infections have been reported in the country yesterday and 49 of them were overseas returnees and the remaining 166 were locals.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 92,303 as of today. However, only 2,823 patients are currently receiving treatment.

According to the statictics by the State Intelligence Service, 9,740 persons are currently under quarantine. Among them 9,047 were overseas returnees and only 693 were locals who are currently serving  quarantine process. (DSB)

    So that means testing has reduced ? But not the infection rate ?

    SORRY MATES, THE GOVT IS BANKRUPT AND CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE PCR TESTS. THEY ALSO WANT TO RECORD LOW NUMBERS OF COVID POSITIVE CASES
